ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Thursday night to discuss an upcoming construction project in Wentzville.

Crews plan to build a multi-lane roundabout at the westbound Interstate 70 ramp at South Church Street, which currently becomes congested during peak afternoon travel times creating a backup into the westbound lanes of the interstate. The roundabout will help to keep traffic flowing, MoDOT officials said.

Construction will begin after the July 4th holiday and will completed in late November.

During construction, motorists can expect delay impacts from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. MoDOT officials said there could also be some closures overnight. The ramp from Route Z to the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 will be closed for up to a month, MoDOT said. Detour signs will be in place to help direct motorists to the westbound lanes of the interstate during the construction.

Thursday night's meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the social hall at St. Patrick's Church, located at 405 South Church Street, in Wentzville.
