TROY, Mo. (KMOV.com) - The Lincoln County Fire Protection District thanked other agencies for helping to rescue flood victims after the fast-moving currents from the Cuivre River took over roads like Highway C.

The Highway Patrol and Department of Conservation helped the fire district rescue at least 20 people from rising waters on Sunday.

Following the rescues, the Red Cross provided emergency shelter to 15 people from Troy.

Of the 15 being assisted, nine are adults and six are children.
