(KMOV.com) – The mother of a 21-year-old who was beaten at a house party in Ladue said her son is slowly improving.

Authorities said 22-year-old Brandon Pudlowski, from O'Fallon, Mo., was beaten up by 21-year-old Darrian Johnson outside a home on Barnes Road in May. Johnson allegedly kicked and stomped on Pudlowksi's head.

Charlene Timmermeir, Pudlowski's mother, said her son had part of his brain removed and he cannot speak in complete sentences.

“It's just devastating. He's going to get better, he's going to be okay,” said Timmermeir.

Timmermeir said she learned that Johnson was recently indicted.

“I'm not excited by any means. There's no excitement at all. I'm glad he be able to do it to anyone else,” said Timmermeir.

Timmermeir said she wants parents to pay attention to what their kids do on social media because Pudlowski learned about the party from strangers on social media.

“Just be that parent that finds everything about every place they're going and who they're with. Do them that favor because my child wouldn't have went, he wouldn't have been there.
