A 19-year-old hospital patient was charged with two counts of felony battery after allegedly punching a nurse.

Deonte Elliot of O'Fallon, Illinois, who police said has a history of anger issues, was a patient at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville when police say he punched a nurse several times, knocking her to the floor.

The nurse sustained injuries including a fractured nose and dislocated elbow.

The circumstances leading up to the incident were not released.

If convicted, Elliot could be sentenced with up to five years in prison.

The bail for Elliot was set at $25,000.
