ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Suspects used two big rocks to attempt to break into a South City jewelry store early Wednesday morning.

The attempted break-in occurred at Jewels in the 4500 block of Hampton around 3:45 a.m.

According to the store's owner, the damage will cost roughly $800 to fix.

The owner told News 4 the store's door has a very heavy laminate on the glass which prevented the suspects from breaking it. The owner said people attempted to break into the store two years ago but also failed due to the laminate on the door.

The owner is currently reviewing security camera footage of the incident.
