Woman, boyfriend accused in her Missouri mother's killing

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Prosecutors have accused a southwestern Missouri woman and her Wisconsin boyfriend in the stabbing death of the woman's mother.

Greene County prosecutors on Tuesday charged Gypsy Blancharde and 26-year-old Nicholas Godejohn of Big Bend, Wisconsin, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Bond for each is set at $1 million. Court records show varying ages for Blancharde.

Authorities allege the two played a role in fatally stabbing 48-year-old Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde in the Springfield, Missouri, home she shared with her daughter.

A probable cause statement released by prosecutors alleges Godejohn told police he traveled to Missouri and carried out the killing at Gypsy Blancharde's request.

Gypsy Blancharde and Godejohn were arrested Monday in Godejohn's Wisconsin hometown.

It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether Gypsy Blancharde and Godejohn have attorneys.
