ALTON, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Police said a woman is facing charges after she allegedly put people with special needs on a bus in danger.

Daisha Phipps is charged with four counts of aggravated assault. She is accused of macing the driver of a van that had four passengers with special needs on board. Authorities said Phipps was a jilted lover who attacked her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend, the driver of the van.

According to authorities, the driver is employed with Shamrock Services and was driving four young people with special needs. Police said the van stopped in front of Shamrock Center in Alton when the attack occurred.

“She came onto the bus and maced the bus driver on the face, and the after effects lingered inside the bus,” said Alton Police Chief Jake Simmons.

Simmons said the spray cloud impacted the passengers inside the van. News 4 reached out to the Shamrock Center for comment, but it refused to do so. However, police said Shamrock Services cooperated with the investigation.

Phipps has yet to be arrested. If you have information on her whereabouts, call police.
