ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The family of a man who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle last year is offering a $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Elizabeth Beard Davis, the sister of the Rick Beard, said Thursday would have been his 55th birthday. Instead of celebrating with cake and ice cream, the family is announcing the reward.

Beard was riding his bicycle when he was killed on June 20 at the intersection of North Sarah and Cook. Following the accident, police recovered the black 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that struck Beard but have not been able to locate the vehicle's driver.

CrimeStoppers is also offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.

Police Chief Sam Dotson and Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce will announce the new reward at a press conference Thursday afternoon.
