ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police said 68 percent of the homicides in St. Louis City in 2015 are unsolved.

Police discussed the statistic only one day after one person was fatally shot and three others were wounded in a park in north St. Louis. 29-year-old Jennifer Dorsey was killed. Authorities told News 4 they believe the number of unresolved murders is unacceptable.

“It is concerning that we only have 25 percent of our total number of cases this year cleared,” said Captain Michael Sack with St. Louis Police.

So far, there have 78 homicides in St. Louis in 2015. The city is on pace to have the most homicides in one year since 1985.
