NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

One person was killed and three others wounded in a shooting in north St. Louis Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the shooting happened near the intersection of Spring and North Market in Rumbold Park around 4:45 p.m.

Authorities said 27-year-old Jennifer Dorsey was shot in the head and died. Police said Dorsey was with her 3-year-old daughter in the park when shots broke out. A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg and is currently listed in critical condition. Two the other men, ages 46 and 21, are both in stable condition.

"It really pains me to know that this woman died cluelessly in front of her children," said Shante Shumpert, who knew Dorsey.

Residents also said there have been other recent nearby shootings.

The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear. Police said a black sedan and tan or silver Chevrolet Impala were seen driving away on North Market after the shooting.
