EUREKA, Mo. (KMOV.com) - A Union Pacific train derailed near the 700 block of Lewis Road in a section of unincorporated St. Louis County near Eureka on Tuesday afternoon.

The derailment occurred at about 1:30 p.m. near the Crescent Farms Golf Club.

A worker at the golf club said it felt like an earthquake when the train cars derailed.

All 97 of the train's cars were carrying grain, St. Louis County Police said.

"It's pretty scary, I mean we've always thought about this, he's always told us what to do if that happens, stay in the house," said Brittany Roberts, who lives nearby. "I'm glad it's grains and not any oil or anything, it could have been really bad."

Out of the 25 derailed cars, 18 fell on their side and 7 remained outright.

No injuries were reported in the incident and there was no hazard to the public.

Union Pacific employees arrived on scene to determine how to remove the derailed train cars.
