ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A former meter reader and volunteer firefighter in Farmington was found guilty of second-degree statutory rape.

A St. Francois County jury found Levi C. Berg, 25, guilty of the one count but he was found not guilty of the other charges, which included statutory rape, three counts of statutory sodomy and two counts of child molestation.

Berg was arrested in 2012 after the father of a 16-year-old girl found inappropriate text messages on the girl's phone. During questioning, police said, Berg admitted he had sex with the teenager.

Berg is scheduled to be sentenced on July 24.
