Man hospitalized after being struck by suspected drunk driver in Wood River

WOOD RIVER, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A man was transported after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in Wood River early Tuesday morning.

The 57-year-old was struck while in the 100 block of Haller Street around 2:20 a.m.

After being struck, the man was air lifted to a St. Louis hospital. Police said the man is currently listed in stable condition.

According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle remained at the accident scene. The driver is currently in custody at the Wood River Police Department pending driving under the influences charges.
