Moorlands Subdivision parking to be discussed at Clayton City Hall Tuesday night

CLAYTON, Mo. ( – The Clayton Board of Alderman will step into the middle of a parking fight that first made headlines a few weeks ago.

A portion of the Moorlands subdivision, located between Clayton and Wydown, is where the city is considering restricting on-street parking.

Residents of the 7400 blocks turned to the City of Clayton because they do not always have access to parking in front of their homes. The city manager said it is because people living on the 7500 blocks were parking there.

In January, Clayton implemented a temporary street parking restriction which limited parking to residents between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Anyone who violated the parking restriction was fined $25.

At the end of the trial period, the Public Works Department is recommending the Board of Aldermen not to adopt the trial parking restrictions as permanent restrictions.

Discussion and consideration of the parking restrictions is scheduled to be discussed Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Clayton City Hall.
