Applications being accepted for new police oversight board

St. Louis City is accepting applications for positions on the new police oversight board.

The bill creating the board went into effect Friday. It creates a board that will investigate complaints against officers and review police policy and practices.

To apply, someone must meet the following qualifications:

The individual must be a resident of the City of St. Louis;

  • At least 18 years of age;
  • Must not hold any public office;
  • Must not be an employee of the City or the State of Missouri;
  • Must not have an immediate family member who is currently employed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department; and,
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.
