NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

A man allegedly threatened to shoot up a daycare in north St. Louis County following a confrontation with his girlfriend, but parents said daycare officials did not notify them of the incident.

Police said Demetrius Taylor made violent threats against the daycare where his girlfriend's children attend, moments after she dropped them off. Authorities said a domestic dispute between Taylor and his girlfriend led to him making those threats.

"At some point during the disturbance he makes the comment, 'Okay, fine. I'm going to come back and shoot all of the children here at the daycare," said St. Louis County Police Department Sgt. Brian Schellman.

When police arrived to the Mary Margaret Day Care on Redman Road, Taylor reportedly was not there.

Daycare officials said the center was put on lockdown. However, many parents News 4 spoke with said no one notified them about the alleged threat.

"This is the first time I ever heard of it," said one parent. "It's kind of crazy. I'm surprised nobody told me about this."

Carmi Dudash, area director for Mary Margarent Day Care centers said she was also unaware of the incident before News 4 contacted her.

No adults or children were injured.

Taylor is currently charged with making terroristic threats, which is only a misdemeanor offense.
