ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - A 6-year-old girl and her father were shot in the leg at Lucier Park near Hamilton Elementary in the Skinker-Debaliviere neighborhood Wednesday evening.

Authorities said three men inside a silver sedan fired shots at a group of people standing in the school's parking lot around 6 p.m.

The school is located near the intersection of Hamilton and Westminster.

At the time of the shooting, the girl and her father were at the playground, police said.

The child was shot in the calf and her father was shot in the thigh and hand.

Both the child and her father were driven to a hospital by car in stable condition.

Mark Gorman is chairman of the security committee for the Skinker-Debaliviere neighborhood. He said he is working with police to find out the people responsible for Wednesday's shooting.

"Any shooting bothers me in this neighborhood," Gorman said. "This is where I grew up, this is where I live. Everything about me is here."

Anyone with information about the recent shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers.
