ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A woman is facing charges after she allegedly took clothes from a store's display and, without purchasing the items, returned them for money towards a gift card.

Billie Claeys, 33, is facing charges after allegedly taking the items off a WalMart display in the 3270 block of Telegraph Road last November. After taking the clothes off the display, according to police, Claeys made no attempt to purchase the items but “returned” them to the customer service counter and received a $105.78 gift card for the store.

Claeys was later identified by the driver's license she used for the refund transaction, police said. She was also identified from a photo lineup by a security officer.

Claeys declined to make a statement, police said.

Claeys is charged with her third stealing related offense, a class D felony, according to police. Previously, Claeys had pled guilty to two counts of stealing in 2010 and 2011, according to police records.
