BRENTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Many drivers and business owners told News 4 they are frustrated by construction, closures, and delays on a stretch of Brentwood Boulevard just south of I-64/40.

Plans to repave the stretch of road, which has rough pavement, have been delayed. The project is not scheduled to be finished until 2016 but was originally supposed to be completed sooner. Officials said the road has been torn up because of water main work being done by Missouri American Water. The water main work has delayed the re-paving.

“It is underground. Obviously if we go through, do a new project, after we finish, they along and cut it, people aren't going to be happy with that either,” said St. Louis County Director of Transportation Nicholas Gardner.

Residents and business owners said they are frustrated by the problems with the road and delays.

“Brentwood Boulevard is a main artery in St. Louis and driving on it is not safe,” said resident Kevin Kerns.
