NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - Two men in their 20's were shot and killed during separate shootings in north St. Louis late Wednesday night and early Tuesday morning.

Around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 700 block of Doddridge for a shooting call and found 28-year-old Raymond Cooper lying unconscious between the curb and sidewalk.

Cooper had been shot in the face and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the victim and a witness planned to meet an individual known only to the victim in the area, but upon arrival, Cooper and the victim were robbed at gunpoint. A struggle ensued and Cooper sustained a gunshot wound to the face.

Investigators said the suspects are two black males.

Less than five hours later, authorities were called to the 5500 block of Genevieve after another man was shot in the head. Eric Williams, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness reported hearing a gunshot and later found Williams' body outside of a residence.

Both homicide investigations are ongoing.
