FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police in Fairview Heights are asking for help locating the suspect who took copper from numerous air conditioning units at a complex.

Monday afternoon officers responded to Burlington Coat Factory, located at 1 Plaza Drive, after a repair service notified them of damage the building's air conditioner. When officers arrived on the scene they noticed additional units that were placed on top of the facility were also damaged.

According to police, 17 stores, including Best Buy, Shoe Carnival, Golf Galaxy, Citi Trends and David's Bridal, were damaged and had their copper parts removed. It is estimated the total cost of the damaged and missing parts for Burlington Coat Factory is over $140,000, police have not received estimates from the other affected stores.
