One dead after apparent attempted murder-suicide in Union

UNION, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A woman is recovering after an apparent attempted murder-suicide in Union, Missouri Tuesday morning.

Officers in Union were called to the 100 block of Highland Drive after a report of gunshots around 2 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found a 34-year-old woman with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and Mitchell R. Ham, 34, with an apparent self-inflicted fatal gunshot wound.

According to police, Ham and the woman were involved in a domestic dispute before the shots were fired.

Ham was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
