ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Two victims, including an eight-year-old boy, were transported to the hospital late Saturday afternoon after their car was hit by gun fire along an I-70 overpass in North City.

A woman inside the victim's car told News 4 that she and her grandson were in the back seat when the boy was struck in the leg.

According to police, the other victim, a 26-year-old man, sustained an injury to his buttocks.

Two other passengers were inside the victim's car, but were not hurt.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the Goodfellow overpass.

The adult victim said a male with dreadlocks driving a silver Chevy Impala fired multiple gunshots into his vehicle.

Authorities are still searching for the suspected vehicle as officers from St. Louis City, St. Louis County and Jennings police departments responded to the scene.

Both victims were transported to the hospital and listed as stable.
