ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man has been charged for allegedly carjacking a person in St. Charles County and leading police on a chase into north St. Louis late Thursday night.

Deontrell Moore, 17, is charged with first degree robbery. Authorities said a 24-year-old man was walking to his car on Pleasant Valley when  Moore and others blocked the victim's car in. Moore and another suspect then approached the victim before one of the two suspects carjacked the victim. The two then drove away in the victim's silver Infiniti. Police said the car the suspects came to the scene in followed.

Police began pursuing the Infiniti a short time later on eastbound Interstate 70 near the airport. The car they had stolen vehicle eventually crashed near O'Fallon Park in north St. Louis, the two suspects inside then ran. Moore was caught a short distance away but the other suspect in the car got away. Police were unable to track down the other car.
