6 arrested during protests outside Circuit Attorney's home Tuesday night

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis' police chief says he expects assault charges against a protester who rubbed pepper spray on him during a demonstration at the home of a prosecutor who cleared a police officer in a deadly shooting.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports at least six people were arrested Tuesday night outside St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce's residence.

Joyce on Monday announced she would not charge a white, off-duty police officer who last October shot and killed black 18-year-old VonDerrit Myers Jr.

A few dozen protesters had decried Joyce's decision earlier Tuesday in downtown St. Louis. But that night, about 40 protesters gathered outside her home, at times going onto Joyce's lawn and porch while chanting, "No justice, no sleep."

The newspaper says Joyce was home at the time.
