(KMOV.com) – An employee of the Ferguson Auto Center spent several days in the hospital after being beaten by men who pretended to be employees.

The dealership's owner said two men who pretended to be interested in a van began to discuss how they would pay for the car.

“They discussed money and said they'd come back with cash,” the owner said.

The owner said the two suspects came back and attacked his employee instead, ramming his head and ransacking an office. The owner said the two men took the worker's wallet and ran. The man spent four says in the hospital, two in the ICU.

“They stole a 2002 Ford Explorer,” the owner said.

The owner of another nearby auto business said one of the men has been lurking around her shop as well.
