ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - The former human resources director for the St. Louis Police Department is charged with various sex crimes.

Larry Brockelsby, 73, is charged with forcible rape, statutory rape, statutory sodomy and child molestation, sources told News 4's Robin Smith Monday afternoon. The alleged incidents occurred between 2003 and 2006.

Brockelsby was the HR director for the police department for more than 25 years. After leaving the city's police force, he worked as a park ranger at the St. Louis Zoo. The Zoo said in a statement that Brockelsby has not been actively working at the Zoo since March 2015 and is not currently employed by the Zoo.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson refused to comment on Brockelsby.
