ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man was robbed at gunpoint in downtown St. Louis after he escorted an unknown woman to the door of his apartment building.

The 25-year-old victim was talking with a woman when he invited her to his apartment in the 1600 block of Lucas, roughly a block away from Washington Avenue, around 1:40 a.m. According to the victim, when the woman arrived at his building she was not the same one that he had previously spoken with.

When the man walked the unknown woman to the door, two men entered the building and then the elevator with the victim. Once in the elevator, one of the suspects showed a firearm and forced the victim inside his apartment.

The suspects took a variety of cash and clothes from the man's apartment.

The victim called police about two hours after the armed robbery took place, police said.

No injuries were reported during the armed robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
