Metro East police organize military-style camp for teens

Posted: Updated:
(KMOV.com) - Illinois State Troopers are developing a militarized camp to help troubled youth in the Metro East.

“There has been some kind of disconnect here in society with kids and adults," said Trooper Calvin Dye Jr. "We want to make sure they're respecting all authority figures, school teachers, and parents legal guardians.”

Attendees will be expected to wear a uniform and follow the rules.

“They have to be very obedient and there are consequences with physical training if they do get out of line at the camp,” said Dye.

Children between the ages of 13 and 16 are invited to attend the camp.
