ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – News 4's Emily Rau got the chance to speak with a local organization that wants to help young girls with confidence.
“Something happens to girls when they transition from that elementary school age to middle school. What we're seeing is a lot of girls lose their confidence,” said Executive Director of Girls in the Know, Gina Marten.
The organization aims to help empower young woman and their moms by hosting speakers that address everyday challenges like bullying, cyber security, and even puberty.
This weekend Girls in the Know will be hosting an event that they hope will inspire big dreams. They will be screening the documentary ‘The Empowerment Project'. The film is a cross country journey exploring woman in all kinds of careers.
