 A St. Louis man accused of holding another man against his will and beating him in a basement in South St. Louis was charged Monday.

Court records show Jasin Pasic, 24, of the 3200 block of Morganford Road, held an unnamed man against his will for more than an hour and beat him with a baseball bat on February 9. Pasic also allegedly put out a lit cigarette on the victim's arm.

During the attack, the victim suffered a broken arm, which prosecutors say required surgery.

Pasic, who is charged with assault and armed criminal action, threatened to kill the man if he reported the incident to police, court documents say.

Circumstances that led to the assault were not stated in the probable cause statement.
