JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Crystal City police recently arrested four suspects who they believe were supplying marijuana to teenage dealers who then sold the narcotics to fellow students at high schools in Festus, Crystal City, Herculaneum and Hillsboro.

The names of the suspects haven't been released but are 18, 20, 28 and 32-years old. Capt. Mike Pruneau with Crystal City Police told News 4 that the investigation was launched after residents reported suspicious activity at a home in the 200 block of Broadway.

"Upon getting some information that high school kids were involved with selling marijuana, the investigation started and we kind of expedited it," Pruneau said.

Police executed a search warrant at the home and seized seven pounds of high grade marijuana believed to be from Colorado. They also recovered ecstasy, heroin, three guns and $4,000 in cash. On Friday, the investigation led them to the home of a Festus High School student on Starboard Drive where investigators recovered 1 & 1/2 pounds of pot and $1200 cash.

Police say charges are expected to be filed after lab tests are conducted to confirm the drugs that were seized.
