Police offer $1000 reward for information leading to suspects who damaged monument

Police are searching for the vandals who damaged a monument that honors veterans in O'Fallon, Illinois.

The stone monument, which honors veterans from O'Fallon, was pushed to the ground over the weekend. O'Fallon City employees discovered the damage on Monday morning. 

“This makes us feel for people who served our county. Veterans are so important to us and we know about that. It makes us feel violated,” said Beth Reidelberger.

Reidelberger served on committee that worked for nine years to build the monument in 2006. Reidelberger's step father's name is on the monument, he served in World War II.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone that has information that will lead to an arrest.
