Several items taken during home invasion in Jennings Friday

JENNINGS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are searching for three suspects responsible for stealing items from a Jennings apartment complex Friday afternoon.

"It's a concern because who's next?" asked the daughter of a resident who lives at the Windfall Trace Apartments. "That's a big concern." She claims her father was robbed earlier this year.

Three suspects, two African-American men and an African-American woman, entered a home in the 2600 block of Chickamauga lane and left with several pieces of property before noon. Police say an 18-year-old was home when the three knocked on his door. When he opened it, they forced their way in.

"One of the black males had a handgun on him," St. Louis County Police Department Sgt. Brian Schellman said. "[He] held the victim at gunpoint and told him, basically, to go lie in the bathroom." The teen said he's never seen the suspects before and says the thieves stole his phone so he couldn't call for help.

Authorities said no one was injured during the home invasion.

The apartment complex is equipped with security cameras, but it is unclear if they are operational. News 4 reached out to management, but they have not returned our calls.

Crimes Against Persons was called to investigate the crime.

No other details have been made available.
