ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Attempted robbery suspects rammed a vehicle into a vacuum machine at a North City gas station before running on foot, police said.

Police believe the suspects were trying to get into the change drawer of the vacuum machine at the Phillips 66 at Riverview and Halls Ferry Circle just before 5 a.m.

When the suspects could not access the change drawer, they backed out and into a gas pump, damaging the pump, according to police.

The suspects ditched the car at the gas station and ran from the scene.
