WEST ALTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in St. Charles County are searching for a man who used a handgun to direct a cashier and customer into a back room during an armed robbery early Friday morning.

A man, who was wearing a scarf to cover his face, entered Parsons Pit Stop, located in the 14000 block of Highway 67, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money around 1:00 a.m.

After the cashier complied with the demand, the suspect directed the cashier and a customer into a back room. The suspect did not take anything from the customer, police said.

The suspect left the store on foot in an unknown direction.

No shots were fired during the incident.

According to police, the suspect took roughly $500 from the cashier.

The suspect is described as being around 5-foot-6 and wearing a red shirt, black pants and a black cap at the time of the armed robbery.
