ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A Belleville, Illinois man was arrested after allegedly throwing a concrete block at officers investigating a burglary.
Detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said in a Probable Cause statement that they were called to the 1000 block of Allen in Soulard Tuesday morning to investigate a burglar alarm sounding. When they arrived on the scene, officers found Dennis Owens in the alley behind the home.
Police said Allen cursed at them and then picked up a chunk of concrete and threw it at them before then fleeing the area.
Other officers responded and attempted to take Allen into custody, but police said he swung his fists in an attempt to punch the officer.
Officers were eventually able to take Allen into custody. He is charged with attempted assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest.
