ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A grandfather found his granddaughter and another woman dead of gunshot wounds in a north St. Louis home Thursday morning.

The grandfather was dropping off a child at a duplex in the 4800 block of Natural Bridge around 6:45 a.m. when he discovered the bodies, according to St. Louis Police Lt. John Green, Commander of the Homicide Unit. Police believe the shooting occurred during the overnight hours.

The victims were identified as 25-year-old Korie Hodges and 22-year-old Keerica Bolden.

“When you see two women killed, there's no need for it. Doesn't make any sense,” Lt. Green told reporters. “We're gonna work hard to try and solve the case.”

According to investigators, there were no signs of a struggle and no one in the area reported hearing gunshots.

Two children, ages 2 and 5, were found unharmed inside the duplex. The children are believed to have been home when the shooting occurred, Lt. Green said.

The grandfather told investigators he did not know the other woman or the children that were found inside the duplex.

Lt. Green said that the events leading up to the shooting are unknown but no guns or drugs were found inside the residence.
