Multiple people injured in string of shootings Wednesday in St. Louis

Multiple people were injured in a string of shootings Wednesday in St. Louis.

A 23-year-old man was shot while he was driving northbound on Grand. Police said the victim was treated and released from the hospital. He suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.

Authorities said a 24-year-old man was shot in 4400 block of Michigan in south St. Louis around 8:45 p.m. A witness told police three men approached the victim's house from the rear and fired gunshots.  A white sedan was seen fleeing the scene. The victim was in stable condition, despite being shot in the upper chest, according to police.

 Two people were shot in the 3900 block of North Florissant in north St. Louis around 9:20 p.m. The victims told police they observed three males in a green Impala. The victims approached the vehicle, thinking they knew one of the people inside. The victims realized they did not know anyone inside and the suspect began firing at the victims, police said in an online incident report.  One man was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the armpit.  Both are in stable condition.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the 2600 block of Rutger at 2:18 Wednesday afternoon.  Police said the man was walking to his mailbox when he heard several gunshots and felt a pain in his foot.

A 50-year-old man was shot during an apparent attempted robbery in the 2000 block of Obear around 8:00 p.m.  Police said the victim was approached by three men.  One of those men displayed a gun and demanded the victim's property.  The man attempted to drive away from the scene, but was shot in the thigh.  He was treated at a hospital.
