FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Active demonstrations played out in Ferguson overnight, and three people were shot in separate shootings and at least two people being arrested.

Authorities said the first shooting occurred near the intersection of West Florissant and Canfield. Authorities said a man, who was shot in the leg, ran to a nearby Chinese restaurant to get help. An ambulance then arrived and took the man to a hospital.

"I helped him get in the car because he couldn't move. This girl came up to to me and asked if I can help him get in the car, so I just picked him up and put him in the car," said protester Lilquan Thomas.

St. Louis Alderman Antonio French, who was on the scene, said another person was shot in the neck on Canfield Drive around 12:20 a.m. That person was driven to the hospital in a pick-up truck. Another person was also shot in the neck. Police said one person was taken into custody for allegedly shooting the third victim.

Authorities said all three shooting victims are in stable condition. Police said they do not know if the shootings were related.

Witnesses said some protesters threw rocks at officers and briefly blocked the street. Police said rocks were also thrown at police cars. Cars were seen doing donuts along West Florissant.

"Yes (I'm afraid about) what's happening in the community. It's people who aren't from here that come down here from St. Charles and Berkeley. Some don't even stay in Berkeley. They come down here and tear up our neighborhood," Thomas said.

News 4's Matt Sczesny said shots were also fired at other times throughout the night. Fires were also set in the streets throughout the night but they appeared to be contained.

Around 1:40 Wednesday morning, a Mobil, located on West Florissant, was looted for the third time since the shooting of Michael Brown. At least five suspects have been arrested in connection with the looting, police said.

Police also made at least two arrests overnight in relation to the activity occurring in the area.

The demonstration in Ferguson came on heels of protests and unrest in Baltimore, where people have been protesting police brutality and the death of Freddie Gray.
