Police said a man who shot his brother and then got into a standoff with police in Ferguson has been charged.

Lorenzo Foster, 39, is charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Foster allegedly shot his brother in the head before barricading himself inside a home in the 400 block of Warford and getting into a standoff with police.

Family members said Foster somehow made his way to a church where he was arrested. Ferguson Middle School and Johnson Wabash Elementary School were lockdown during the standoff.

According to relatives, Foster has a history of mental illness. He is being held on $100,000 cash only bond.
