GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) – The suspect of a Granite City hit-and-run accident that killed a teenager and left another injured pleaded guilty Monday.

Twenty six-year-old Son T. Nguyen, of the 2000 block of 4th Street in Madison, pleaded guilty failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death, a felony.

Police say 16-year-old Daniel Embrey and two friends were walking near the intersection of 14th and Edwardsville Road around 9:45 p.m. on October 6 when they were hit by a passenger car. Police say the responsible vehicle fled the scene following the accident.

When officers arrived at the scene they found two teenage victims. Embrey was pronounced dead and a second victim was flown to a St. Louis hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. A third person was not injured.
