ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) - A St. Charles bar was condemned after a man crashed a vehicle into the back of the building.

A Ford Mustang veered off of the roadway and into the back of Field Box 2, located in the 3700 block of Mexico Road, around 10:00 Tuesday night. The vehicle crashed near the kitchen and back bar area of the restaurant. The crash resulted in a hole in the back of the bar, about 30-feet long and 8-feet high.

St. Charles City Firefighters and Central County Fire and Rescue worked to cut the driver out of the car. The driver was unconscious and taken to a local hospital to treat his injuries.

At the time of the incident, the bar was open. No one in the restaurant was injured.

The building will remain condemned until repairs are made.

The owners of the bar expect for their business to be closed for a significant amount of time, but they do plan to rebuild.
