ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Four suspects were taken into custody after police pursued a vehicle from Missouri, into Illinois, and then back into downtown St. Louis.

Police said the chase began in south St. Louis when they started to pursue a suspect who was wanted in connection with a robbery. Several people were inside the car. According to police, the suspects led officers into St. Louis County where police believe the robbery suspect got out of the car and fled.  Authorities said they tried to use spike strips to stop the car but were unsuccessful.

The remaining suspects inside then drove into Illinois on I-255 and continued to drive northbound. Police then stopped following the vehicle on the ground and simply followed it using a helicopter.

The vehicle then got onto westbound I-64 before veering onto the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The suspects got off at the Tucker exit, driving into downtown St. Louis. One suspect was arrested outside the Hyatt Hotel by the Arch after apparently driving the vehicle into the hotel's garage.  Three more suspects were arrested near the intersection of North Market and Broadway.

Witnesses near the Hyatt said they heard gun shots, but police said nobody fired a gun.

The robbery suspect is still at large.
