Restoration project working to restore Dogtown mural

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Over the weekend a historic restoration took place at a Dogtown neighborhood staple.

Decades ago, the Greisedeick Brothers mural was created on the side of the Pat Connolly Tavern, located at Tamm Avenue and Oakland.

During the winter of 2014, the family who originally owned the spot where Pat's was took back ownership and found an old picture of the building that showed the mural.

With the help of the Dogtown Historical Society the painting is being brought back to life.

“We're definitely trying to celebrate the history,” said Joe Jovanovich, with the Pat Connolly Tavern.

The restoration project is one of several similar projects taking place throughout the neighborhood.
