ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Cardinals home opener is finally here and everyone making their way to the game should stay dry this afternoon.

Monday morning temperatures will be in the 60s with showers and thunderstorms moving to the northeast. The morning showers will have lightning, thunder and blustery winds but no severe weather is predicted, according to 4Warn Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.

The rain should leave the area by the time Great Day St. Louis takes the stage for a live show in the Tums lot at Broadway and Spruce at 10:00 a.m.

Cloudy skies will be in the area for a majority of the afternoon with a slight chance the sun will make an appearance for the live Channel 4 newscast at noon in the Tums lot.

When the first pitch is thrown at Busch Stadium at 3:15 p.m. temperatures will be in the lower 70s with mostly cloudy skies.
