(KMOV.com) – Two men are facing charges for breaking into a home, shooting a man, leading police on a chase, and firing at them during the pursuit.

Carey Williams, 24, and Donald Michaels, 34, are charged with burglary, assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest.

Police said the men broke into a home in Jefferson County and fired shots at the home's owner and a neighbor who walked in on the burglary. The suspects then drove away before going to another home and shooting a man.

The two then allegedly led police on a chase and fired shots at officers during the pursuit. At one point police said they pulled their vehicle over, but Williams and Michael decided to drive away. The chase ended after their vehicle crashed at the intersection of Mattis Road and Lemay Ferry Road.

Both are being held on a $1,000,000 cash only bond.
