FERGUSON, Mo (KMOV.com) – The “GO! St. Louis Marathon” will mark the 100th race for a woman from Ferguson.

Rae Mohrmann started her racing career at 49 and says this race is special to her and not because it is her 100th.

“Right before my first marathon, my father passed away,” Mohrmann said. “Just several weeks ago, my mother passed away. From 1 to 100, I'm excited and nervous about that. I know they'll both be with me.”

Rae says this race is also special because she loves to live and train in Ferguson. She hopes her achievements can shine a positive light on a place that has seen so much civil unrest.
