CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – The driver of a MetroBus had to be extricated after a crash in Caseyville Tuesday morning.

According to the Fairview Heights Police Department, a Ford Excursion was driving east on St. Clair Avenue at the intersection near Third Avenue when it crossed over the center line and struck a westbound traveling MetroBus just before 7:15 a.m.  

After being extricated, the MetroBus driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to reports, there were three passengers aboard the bus at the time of the accident. Two of the passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford Excursion was cited for failure to yield.
