Person trapped pulled from car after accident on I-44 in Fenton

FENTON (KMOV.com) - A driver was extracted from his car after a three car accident on WB I-44 in Fenton Friday.

Firefighters said a Chevy Aveo, Plymouth Laser, and tractor trailer were driving WB On I-44 when the Plymouth Laser slowed down. According to firefighters, the Chevy Aveo was unable to slow down and hit the Plymouth Laser before the Laser hit the tractor trailer.

Firefighters extracted 26-year-old Craig Mangan, the driver of the Laser, who was trapped in his car.  The front end of the Laser was smashed by the tractor trailer. A medical helicopter took Mangan to a hospital with serious injuries. 29-year-old Joshua Kaiser, who drove the Aveo was checked by paramedics at the scene and refused medical treatment.


Two right lanes of I-44 were closed but later re-opened.
